56 New Greyhounds at NGAP!

56 greyhounds will be coming soon to the NGAP website! Dogs are normally given about a week to settle in before we take their photos since it takes a while for them to calm down and adjust to the new environment. Once they are settled they become much more photogenic and its easier to accomplish the task!

Mobile, AL Greyhounds-Part 1

On Sunday, April 25, 2010 the 12 of the 28 greyhounds coming from Mobile Alabama arrived at NGAP. Mobile Greyhound Park opened in 1973 is probably considered an end-of-the-road track. If the greyhounds do not succeed there they had better be adopted. Look for these Alabama dogs:

  • Macs Maddie
  • PDG Duchess
  • TNJ Sparkler
  • WW Flacco
  • Jersey Girl
  • Lilli Blue Eyes
  • Highland Flare
  • Iruska Angie
  • U Too Bev
  • Cmon Leftubehind
  • Calypso Gerry
  • Dodging Diablo

Hollydogs

On Tuesday, April 27, 2010, NGAP received 14 greyhounds from Hollydogs in Florida. NGAP has had a long relationship with Sergio and Silvana Cortello, founders of Hollydogs. We have been getting dogs from them for probably 17 or 18 years! Their kennel is in the shadow of what used to be the Hollywood Track in Hollywood, Florida. This track is now called Mardi Gras and has slot machines and card playing, so greyhounds are no longer the main focus of interest. Although the Mardi Gras track has a so-called 'adoption program' they show very little interest in actually adopting their greyhounds. Thankfully, Hollydogs is there to pick up the slack!. Look for these dogs:

  • Chanel
  • Dixie
  • Annie
  • Nicky
  • Tango
  • Sweety
  • Red
  • Radical
  • Benny
  • Dakota
  • Billy
  • Tim
  • Putt Putt
  • Amos
  • Kaias Town Cryer

Mobile, AL Greyhounds-Part 2

On Wednesday, April 28, 2010, the remaining 16 of 28 greyhounds arrived from the Mobile Track, one of them not feeling very well with an elevated temperature. He was immediately put on IV fluids to get him rehydrated. He and the 15 others will be photographed sometime next week. Look for these dogs on our website soon:

  • Feelin Groovy
  • WW Fast Ruby
  • Erica Riggins
  • Makemeadrinkerin
  • PMB Charmed
  • Maximesta
  • Silver Glow
  • Its Me or the Dog
  • Silver Spring
  • Catchu
  • Backtalkingwife
  • FTK Supercharged
  • BB's Envied Love
  • Bob the Man
  • Raging Twister
  • Making Hay

Orlando Greyhounds

Last but not least, we can't leave out the 12 greyhounds arriving from Orlando, Florida on May 4, 2010. Diane and John Galui from JayGee Kennels have been bringing greyhounds to us for well over 15 years, certainly since our first kennel opened at Wingate Street holding only seven greyhounds. This will round our number out to 56! This is the largest quantity of greyhounds NGAP has taken in in such a short period of time. Look for these Orlando dogs soon:

  • AHK Heartbreaker
  • Ain't Settlin
  • Ea's Whiskey
  • Annie Ryle
  • Dial W
  • GLS Photofinish
  • P's Airborn
  • Sobe Tatertot
  • CR Sachtleben
  • PJ's Racing Riko
  • TK Cool Kid
  • Bohemain Zone
