Any animal with significant health issues will get a temporary boarding reservation until it is approved by senior staff, the Director and our veterinarians.

NGAP reserves the right to upgrade your pet's accommodation location and degree of care based on our evaluation. That may mean additional costs of $20.00-$100.00 per day. This is a determination made by our veterinarians, senior staff and the Director, based on your dog's immediate circumstances. If a dog is given to us with issues we cannot deal with, you will be notified to either pick your dog up or we will refer it to a specialty medical facility, the cost for which you will be responsible.

Personal Items

When boarding your dog(s) at our facility, we do not encourage you to bring bedding or toys. These items may become soiled during your pet's stay and may accidentally get mixed in with items used for our kennel dogs during the cleaning process. With 100 dogs to tend, it can be difficult for us to keep track of such things! All of our kennel and boarding dogs are given sufficient bedding to sleep on and we believe they are always kept quite comfortable.

If you decide to leave personal items with your dog, we will certainly try to keep track of it, although we cannot guarantee the safe return of these items and you will be leaving them at your own risk.

Dental Requirement

In an effort to make sure that all greyhounds have healthy mouths we require that all dogs have a dental evaluation done prior to boarding check-in. If advised by our clinic staff that your greyhound needs a dental cleaning, whether it be a non-anesthesia procedure or anesthesia procedure, we will give you the option to have it done at our facility while the dogs are here. You, of course, also have the ability to take your dog to another veterinary facility to have this work done as well. That being said, if your greyhounds return for boarding at a later date and their previously noted dental issues have not been addressed, they will not be allowed to board at National Greyhound Adoption Program. We truly appreciate your business and hope you will continue to board with us as well as take care of your greyhound's teeth as has been indicated by our clinic.

Nails

All dogs will normally have their nails clipped while boarding. If your dog's nails have not been clipped, it is presumably because it would not permit us to, even while being muzzled and restrained.
